Default Kingtech 100 TP prop options

A local guy liked all the Reno racers flying locally…but rather than researching the fact we all use JetCat SPT-10 units he ordered a KT unit before talking to me. The problem seems to be a suitable prop. KT appear to have selected a gear ratio that requires a prop no body makes!!
I guess that’s why searching here I can’t find much on the unit. The manual says it needs a 26 x 20/22” three blade prop.
Has anyone run one of these or know someone who has. What prop did they use?
The Spinner is over 6” on the CARF Reno so it needs to be larger than the Biela 23” 5 blade that might work.

thanks

JC Super Props in Brazil will make you the size prop you need. Have been using the JC Super Prop five-blade 24x24 on my Kingtech 100tp powered PC-21 for the past 3 plus years.

Thanks. I’ve told him to go to Ramoser. Still think it’s odd they developed a unit that requires a unique prop!

That is really the best option. 👍

It is the way it is regarding the Gearbox ratio. Luckily there are enough options. Maybe not from the “known” commercially available brands but from the smaller specialist prop brands.

Yes, I’ve seen the static thrust produced making aircraft ‘taxi’ at idle…
Next time he will buy a JetCat!

Dave you also may want to take a look at the amount of shaft coming out of the engine that the prop mounts too.
When I was building a customers PC-6 last year, once a back plate of the spinner was installed there was only a few mm's of shaft to go in the prop.

If it’s the same bolt thread as JetCat we have different lengths to allow for that.

This is stupid Dave. Please stay objective.
I know you sell jetcat and not Kingtech so you are biased. Stay professional.
I use to have at least 10 jetcats and 6 Kingtech’s. Both have there ups and downs. But I can assure you Kingtech has the best service I ever have seen to there customers.

I work on logic, just does not make sense to chose a gear ratio where there is little choice on props. They must have had a reason, fine but then they should back up this decision by going to a prop manufacturer and getting something made that is suitable.
I know JM offers a great service in Europe, great. He needs to get a prop to offer with the engine he sells.

Yes they are more design for glow, and gas motor….…it shouldn’t be a problem….the 100 shaft is 12mm and the bolts 10mm….

different then the 45..
