Finishing up my starfire (neewd to paint yet), and I just ordered the struts. Shaun recommeded the 3/8 inch robostruts for the yellow retracts (?330's I believe). I finally found that tower had these in stock, and they are on the way.
Looking at the robart site, though, they mention that these struts are for 4-10lb planes??? I figure this jet will weight at least 13lbs, and closer to 20 when converted to turbine.
Did I purchase the right gear? Or should I get the 440's and drill out the retracts?
HELP PLEASE!

I would use the Robart # 660 (7/16) struts if it were me. They have longer oleo travel and tougher springs. I have a Turbine Starfire with 3/8 struts and the suspension is bottomed out just sitting.

Thanx jetdriver. I am a little worried that drilling out the yellow retracts may weaken them and cause a fracture though. Anyone done this before?
By the way, how are the 3/8 inch struts holding up? I plan to fly off grass.

Lots of luck flying off grass. I have bent my 3/8 struts on a hard surface runway. Here is a picture to show the difference in the two. The retracts are the robart 550's which will accept either a 3/8 strut or a 7/16.
