Hi guys, has anyone out there seen or had experience with a Fibre-Clasics\CARF early version {no canards} Rookie fitted with a conventional high tailplane fitted to lengthened booms?
Was this a common modification

I've never seen or heard of that mod, are you sure it's a Rookie? Please post pics.

That's not a Rookie it's a Feibao Velox, they had two versions a standard size and a bigger one called the XL.

About 20 years ago we made this mods on the hotspot and the rookie, adding a horizontal stab with very good results. This planes are still around, having survived hundreds of flights. By the picture, your kit is pretty much the same we done here, so I presume it will fly well.

p.s. It is highly likely that you will need to mix about 1cm of up elevator while using flaps. Our setup pitches down when using them. Have fun!

Enrique.
