Default 230-260 class engines?

I want to stuff a bigger engine into my Rebel Pro. Running a Swiwin 190 now. Unfortunately Swiwin is having a tough go with this size engine. So I’m looking for other options. 300 is to big. I’ll also need one similar to this size in the future for a large plane.

what engine would you go with?
Looking for experienced folks in this area to respond.
1. is it serviced in the USA?
2. If not how difficult is getting it serviced?
3. what is your experience with the service?

Ken... I'm not pushing a turbine....Only giving you my experience, which is based solely on Jet Aerobatics competition. I have been using a KingTech 235 G4+ and extremely happy with it. Next month (November) I have had it for 5 years and it was originally in a Leonardo and then moved over to my Rebel Pro. It has won the Jet Nationals previously in the Silver class and gives me plenty of options of when to put in power for upline vertical maneuvers. The residual thrust on landing takes a little time to bleed off airspeed as I have 55° flaps....I think with 60° it would be perfect.

I am not 100% sure if KT services presently in the US as previously they did...however, the turbines are sent to California and they handle it from there. In the 5 years of operation, I have only had a temperature sensor going out....all the other times, I start and go fly/practice.

I have not had any issues with service.
Best regards,
Wayne

What’s the issue with the SW 190? About to pull the trigger on one.

Nothing wrong with it, I just want more vertical on my Rebel Pro and I need a 250 class for a future plane. So it would go in both.

the 190 is a solid engine, I run it on a King Cat and the Pro

Obvious suggestion but take a look at the KingTech 240G5 or 235G4. I have a couple of 240G5 and they have been perfect.

My Rebel Pro has a Xicoy X240. I fretted and frettted over going with the 195 or the 240. I'm glad I went with the 240.

Kingtech 235 or 240 if you want USA service. My choice would be Xicoy for it's specs and weight, but not sure if Aeropanda services them or ships them back to Europe for service. They also say diesel allowed but not recommended. I'm switching over to jet A, which i believe is acceptable.

It appears that aeropanda will handle all the logistics of servicing xicoys, similar to how kingtechs are serviced. I chose xicoy for my next project and if specs and initial quality are any indication, xicoy will be very hard to beat! This little 160 is smaller and lighterthan the swiwin 140 and basically the same installed weight as the kingtech 142, and is just gorgeous

For sure but no diesel, has to be shipped to AB and then factor in 4 shipping costs, plus your forced to buy insurance (if you don't its on you!) and another few hundred on Tariff's lol Yeah no thanks.

I’m not against always having more power, we love that! Yet, on my Rebel Max (a significantly bigger/draggier airframe, 37 lbs empty, 46 lbs full tank)I had a Jet munts 200XBL and I had plenty of vertical power, just not unlimited, with a 250-260 it would have had unlimted vertical, may you be asking for too much? A 230-250 on a Rebel pro is just overkill, unless you have an extremely heavy bulld…

Consider a JetMunts 262NG or a 250XBL. I had great results with the 250XBL and the 262 is an upgrade from that.
