No problem Johnny.... Happy to provide pics of the build and comments on the kit! Got less than two weeks to get it done if Its going to make FIJR. Looks like it should go together quick. Give me a few days to get rolling on it....

Great to hear you got your Tango

I'm considering getting this airplane as my first jet. Did you get the Robart gear from Planeplus? How about the wheels and brakes? How does everything look? What will you use for power? I would like to put in SpringAir retracts, so any info you can throw my way would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Robert

LOL Pat, that's a good one. If it does not have some yellow, then it is not Todd's.

Robert,
Still waiting on the gear (Robarts) and wheels and brakes from Planes Plus. I dont see any reason why springairs would not work on this plane, only issue might be the side load bending the gear frames like they do on the roo. If your going to use springair gear I think you will need the frame stiffeners tha TGA sells. The quality of the kit looks excellent, I'll know more about parts fit once I start building. I am putting a P-80 in this one so it should be quite fast.

"your gonna have to squeeze some yellow in there somewhere!"
Dont worry Pat, i'll find someplace for my yellow

Hi Todd.

Well it's oficial the Tango is my first entry into the turbine world!!!!!!! I just spoke with Karla over at PlanePlus and she will be shipping out my brand new P-120 later today. The Tango should be shipped late next week. Holly Mollyyyyyy

Thanks for the info. Can you point me in the direction of the frame stiffeners?

I would suggest NOT flying the Tango on a full power P-120. It is a much smaller airplane than you might think.

frame stiffeners?
Not sure what your asking robert? What frame are you trying to stiffen? Are you looking to stiffen the Tango for 120 use? I would be turning that sucker WAY down on this airframe! Although the structure looks quite strong, it is by no means a 27lb thrust plane. I would imagine it will be a rocket with my P-80 on it....

Hi Todd.
You mentioned that I should use frame stiffeners from TGA if I planned to use the SpringAir retracts.

Yes, I am aware that I have to reduce the output of the P120. I got the P120 so that in the future I already have a powerful enough turbine for a bigger plane.

Thanks for the info and the heads up on reducing the power on the P120.

This is what I found on the TGA website:

TGA HD retract stiffener plates for Spring Air HD 701 $39.95. Is this what you had in mind?

Hi Todd

I love the way the Tango flys, and you will find that it goes together fast. When you set up the elevator use a straight edge on the bolts and sight down it to line it up.Did you get a book with yours? I would do like I told you to do on the fule tanks it saved my Tango when the hatch blew off. The support I install retained the tank in place and if it did't have this I think I would have lost her,and one more thing please do not use a 605 this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Tango will bounce bad if you come in to fast so make sure you get it nice and slow.

Yes, p-120 will work.
Okay, that is encouraging.. will it hold enough fuel to feed an engine that size? Even at reduced thrust, it will burn a bunch more than a PST or MW54

Hey mike, No manual with mine either but I dont see any need for one. Lots of pre-fab so I expect it should come together quite fast. It will take more time to rig it than complete the airframe No 605's on this one..... I now use them for what they were intended, leveling a table [X(] How did it balance out? Where did you place your batteries? and...whats the CG location?
Thanks,
Todd
