HELLO JET GUYS! I AM IN THE PROCESS OF BUILDING A STARFIRE JET. I KNOW THIS MODEL WILL FLY OVER 150 MPH AND I WOULD LIKE TO BUILD A PROP MODEL THAT WILL BE CLOSE TO THIS SPEED RANGE TO GET A FEEL FOR THE FASTER MODELS. CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A PROP PLANE / ENGINE CONFIGURATION THAT WILL FLY VERY FAST. THERE IS ALSO THIS GUY AT THE FLYING FIELD WHO IS CURRENTLY FASTER THE REST OF US AND I WOULD LOVE TO TO KICK HIS ***. THANKS GUYS!

I think your best bet would be to go for the fully composite ARF Whiplash from ACM

Check it out.
It is now becoming the standad in high speed trainer for jet jockeys

David,
I STRONGLY recommends you the Kangi, which is the F3D from Super Kraft ( www.kangkeeusa.com), the cost is very low, just US$158.00.
I builded one, is all fiber composite.
I putted a OS. 46.VRF Ducted Fan ( purple head). It turns a 7.4 x 8.5 carbon fiber APC at 25K RPM!
The kit call for a .30, so some modifications have to be made, basically removing the actual fire wall and installing a new an stronger one. I cutted the fuselage a couple of inches to not affect the CG.
The plane flies at almost 200MPH. It beated a Hot Spot with a Ram 500.
The wing need reinforcement only at the tips, because is laminated.
Regards,
Miguel.
