Does anyone read the Wanted ads?

Just wondering, I posted a wanted ad (not long ago I realize, this isn't meant to sound like whining or anything) But was noticing some ad's that have been there for quite a while have only like 6 views.
I need a 10SXII transmitter so I posted a wanted ad, but I wonder how many times it will be looked at. It's tempting to just put WTB in the for sale section, but I don't wanna be a jerk and do what I'm not supposed to do.
Anyway, I was just wondering how often any of you look in the wanted section, if you know of anyone who has a 10SXII transmitter and module they wanna sell that'd be real cool too

In the for-sale forum, people will often look at an ad even if they are not all that interested in the item in question, just in case it turns out to be a great deal that they can't pass up. A lot of other people take a look because they have no idea what the item being sold is, and they are curious.
For a Wanted ad, there is no point in someone looking inside your ad when they can tell (from just seeing the thread tile in the forum) that they don't have the item you are looking for. Consequently, the number of views for a wanted ad is naturally going to be a whole lot lower than for a for-sale ad.

Jeremy-I can tell you that I have not once looked at the wanted ads in any category here on the new RCU. On the old RCu where they were integrated with the 'sell' items, I did look at them daily. It may be a bit more 'neat and tidy' to have them in their own category, but kind of defeats the purpose. Of course, this is just my opinion. Regards-Mike Oberst

I posted a WTB ad for a ducted fan jet and did get a reasonable number of views. What was interesting though is that I got quite a few emails from people directly that didn't post through the ad. I agree the WTB section seems to be a little out of the way now and I am not sure that it gets the same exposure it used to, but from my experience it does work.

Maybe only 6 people have the item in queston, and are willing to part with it...

Gordon,
Yup, I agree with you, I just was thinking back to the couple of wanted ads I had placed on the old RCU, they got quite a few views, but more importantly, I had people who didn't have the items still email or post saying "try this guy, he had something" etc. Some of these people just know others who don't frequent the forum etc.
Part of the reason I asked, was in all honesty, until I needed to post a wanted ad, I never even noticed the wanted section (which was stupid on my part I know, it's right there for all to see) but I did like when the wanted ad's were on the bottom of the for sale page. I used to (and still do) read all the for sale ads just for kicks, but I used to read all the wanted ad's to see what guys were planning etc. I also was able to offer some help in locating items by looking at the wanted ad's when they were right there.
Oh well, just one of those things I guess [sm=bananahead.gif][sm=bananahead.gif]

Maybe you could ask Marc to make it a suer-selectable option as to whether Wanted & For-Sale are shown in separate tabs, or combined.
Just please don't ask for another month or two ... the new RCU still doesn't have many of the tools etc. that the mod's need to do their jobs, and we'd kinda like to have those done before you guys distract Marc with too many suggestions for improvements

I recall an ad a while back by Major Mike Youngling ( goes by "INAV" ) wherein he was looking to see if JR has a new radio coming out beyond the 10X as he was getting ready to buy a new one. As I remember, he has a 10 sx. Try him and see if he might be interested in selling his.

Just the wanted section leaves a little to be desired
