Default Current Turbine Regulation Problems

First off I would like to say I agree with some of these opinions sometimes and sometimes I don't.

I think that we are doing tremendous amount of damage to our cause by all of this loudmouth thinking on RCU. I don't believe there is one of us in this forum that knows everything about these problems. There for until we find a way to be completely informed and completely heard. We should keep these type first think second opinions to our selves. They are only showing a divided uninformed group of people that are struggling to keep our part of the hobby alive.....

With that being said. I also believe that we should find a way to be more informed about the facts, and not the opinions of the posters in RCU.

Trev,

I hear ya....BUT, how can we be informed when we have to kick, scream, prod, and poke to get info from the AMA??? JPO has had an open line of communication with the AMA. I can't say the same thing about the AMA towards the JPO and the jet modeling community. It seems that the only time we hear anything from the AMA it was at the same time the hammer was coming down. I'm tired of being hammered....[:@]

Trev,

I completely agree. I know that I have been more vocal than what I probably should have been. I was the first District V JPO rep and played a small part in getting the original turbine regs in place. It was hard work coming up with a workable agreement with the AMA to show that turbines were safe in the right hands. Without the JPO I doubt that we would have as much freedom as we now have with turbines...If they would be allowed at all. The AMA was, and in many ways still is, sceptical of our turbines. Many things have changed over the years and in many ways the turbine regs should be relaxed instead of tightened. Jet modelers as a whole have proven to be worthy. Why is it then I feel the noose tightening??? If things keep going the way they have, we won't be able to fly on any days that end in "Y".
