Default How do you start a Turbax 1 on a belt ?

I have a very basic question.

I am thinking of buying an EJF Bobcat (45") which is a copy of a BVM. Its $199 and has a composite fuselage and Foam (sheeted ?) wings. The wings don't matter because I will be glassing them anyway.

What I intend to do is put a Turbax 1 with a K&B 7.5 and 7.5 mac pipe on the thing.
I will also be adding Spring air retarcts and flaps.

So far so good, BUT ...

Given the design, the motor placement blocks the front cone of the fan unit. SO no wand starter.

I have read in the Turbax manual about using a toothed belt to start the engine.

Can anyone describe this process to me ? Where does one procure the belt. How does it mount to the starter ? etc, etc ...

Thanks

hirobo( shuttle helicopter) had a belt that was used to start it. Some are still hanging on the parts walls of the heli section. You but the belt in those groves( I don't think it fits perfectly) and then around the starter cone at the back in the v groove. Pull tight and start. I had to start a JHH A-4 this way and I never had it go int the fan blades. MIght just be luck! but it did work.

You can also buy a belt from your local sewing machine store. Just make sure you get the one that has teeth on it instead of the V belt.
