Don't light it up! You don't want uncontrolled propane to your turbine.
If the solonoid is new and the ECU checked out, but the solonoid doesn't hold back the starting gas, you might have too much gas pressure, or a problem with bending back one of the pins on the ECU PC board when you plug in the connector from the solonoid. Be sure the brown wire is orientated towards the 'dot' properly. I bent a pin on my 500 ECU with the Rx cable and couldn't detect the problem without a strong light and a magnifying glass.
Too much 'Gas' pressure could result from using straight propane, rather than the 70% propane/ 30% butane mix in Coleman Powermax.

Remove the electril cable from the ECU to the gas valve.
The valve is now closed, too much gas presure will not cause valve to open. It may leak but will not open. Check to see if you are hooked up right. Hooked to wrong port will blow valve open.

Thanks to all. The problem was a bad solenoid (new one and old one both). I removed the entire gas system and with no power on the solenoid was open. I put a small amount of light oil in the opening and hit it with a hammer (actually a screwdriver) and it closed. Had to hit it every time to get the gas to fill but it worked. Finally got to test fly my Avonds Rafale -- Sweet!... only two clicks of aileron trim a perfect test flight and a nice slow nose high roll on landing.

Tom,
Glad to hear you got the bird in the air. Sure wish we had gotten in the air in Austin. You missed a good weekend at Mississippi. We are planning a Waco trip in June...watch for info. Will see it then I hope.
