My first jet just arrived today!! Its a second hand C-ARF Roo, everything looks pretty good except for the gear door hinges are cracked. I think ill refrain from using gear doors anyway to cut down cost. It has a 2L coke bottle tank, I think I may save up for a kevlar one. I am planning on using two Futaba 9303s on the elevons and standard servos on the rudders. Ill save up for the Robart gear, especially after hearing all the horrors about MMs gear. I plan on re painting the whole jet, if anyone has advice on how I should prep it (sanding, priming, etc) im all ears.

I am going to put a Sophia J850 in it, also second hand. The finish looks better in the pictures than in person, there has been some repairs and grey primer has tarnished the original scheme. My dad has an airbrush so I am going to repaint it, something simple probably two tone and highly visable as this is my first jet.

I used mini futaba metal gear on the rudders, no problem, would hold knife edge.

Repair any minor damage to the wings with light fillets and lightly sand the old finish with 400 grit sand paper. Paint her up and clear cote it to keep it fuel poof! Good luck with your new baby!
