DOE'S ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW OR COULD MEASURE FOR ME THE DIMENSIONS FOR THE O RING ON THE RAM500R?
I returned a bad starter to Ram with out taking the O ring out.
In return I got a new starter with no O ring on it.
I call them & told me they ran out of O rings and that I can get one in a hardware store.
They couldn't tell me the dimensions.
Thanks for your replys.

Condoe_won,
Dimensions, as accurately as I can take the measurements:
Outer dia: 0.55 inch, or 13 mm
Inner dia: 0.33 inch, or 8 mm
Thickness: 0.09 inch, or just over 2mm
I have two brand new O rings for the RAM 500R that I got from RAM a couple of months ago, just before they forced me to upgrade to the new X starter. I no longer have a use for them, and would be more than happy to pop them in the mail to you first thing tomorrow morning if you will just post your address here. (Or send me email)
If you need the parts faster than regular first-class mail will handle, I'll send it whichever way you wish if you simply give me your word that you will later refund me the cost of the rush shipping.
Lemme know !
BTW, it seems rather odd, that if one can simply "pick an o-ring up at the hardware store" as Ram told you, that RAM somehow was unable to do so themselves... geez. Great little engines once you figger them out, but RAM doesn't seem to be doing themselves any favors on the Customer Service front these days. I sure hope they get that straightened out.

Condoe_Won,
Becareful, there are two different sizes of o-rings that they use. I had to replace mine and they sent me both sizes so I would have the correct one. As far as I can tell the outer diameter is the same but one is a little thicker than the other.
patrick.
If you need a pic I have and extra one of each that I keep just in case I need one.

Gordon,
Just for clarification......the RAM500s could use either O-Ring depending on what brass fitting they put on your starter motor. My 1000R is an early production model thus it uses the thinner O-Ring whereas the later model 1000R's also use the thicker O-Ring.
