Default How do they do it?

I was admiring my Y/A Starfire last night and it got me thinking.

How do they mold these things? I mean is it joined in the molds, if so how do they get that carbonfiber bead in there to join it?

Or is it put together after it comes out?

You can join in the mold with the right tools. Rollers on long sticks, access through wing seat and efflux

You can also join in the molds with a slurry (thixotripic-sp?) mix of chopped fiber (or chopped carbon) and epoxy-throw it into an empty caulk tube and at the green/B stage, trim the two halves, caulk the joining seams and bolt it together. A bunch of molded wings are done this way.

www.su27projekt.de/ is the adress to the birth of a big jet-model.

Take a look at Haralds awasome project of the Russian Flanker. This migh give you a hint or three..
