Default On Board Gas

I know this is probably a stupid question but how do you fill an ob board gas starter tank. I have purchased a can of butane / propane mix and the appropriate fixings. Do you simply connect the 2 together and turn the feed on? How do you know when there is enough gas in the starter tank.

The start tank is full when it stops taking any more gas. Simple as that. I just pust the "Probe " in the top of the Powermax can and let 'er rip.
