k&b 82 kbv 82
#4
I had a the K&B .82 and on breakin i ran three tanks of fuel
and had it at the field and started it getting ready to fly and the connecting rod
broke on idle,( there was NO MIS USE of this engine )and still under warrentee
I then got in contact with K&B which wanted to charge me for a new one.
im not Knocking K&B , they have great engines i think , but what about that warrentee?
they did however ship me the part COD/via UPS and unfortunalty missed the UPS man i called
UPS to sheduel a dilivery date when i was off work but UPS would not even try to comply with me. ( Stateing that the third attempt the part would be shipped back to K&B ).
I then could not get intouch with K&B no longer due to unknown reasons
( Rumors have it they went bankrupted/sold the company ect; ) i have no idea what happen to them, i had a friend to machine the part for me but the part was a snad to short compaired
next to the broken one , but the engine does run now but although i havent put it to the test with high RPM's yet. can someone tell me how to get this part just incase the machined part fails.?

Hey Mach 1 man,
I can tell you that none of hte parts listed are interchangable between the two motors. I doubt Mecoa could tell you anything as the KBV .82 was way before their time in the K&B engine line. The engine was made specifically for BVM to his specs and did not use any of the standard .82 parts at all.
I will ad though that if you can find some parts from a BVM .81 these will swap in and work. The BVM .81 was made by Nelson to the same specs as the .82, but with a much better quality control behind it.
