Cnbhome,
The answer to that is that it would be much easier to build a high wing load carrying trainer type, fill it with C4, stick a straight and level autopilot and BANG.
Nothing to do with making rockets that you guide to make them safe...........
Best C4 carrier to do damage is a truck, will they take them off the road?
Until the curtain is pulled, lets stick to having hypothetical fun, and see if anyone does get a rocket up to speed.
Re your a A0, some ultrabrite flashing LED's and a sound generator will do the job just great. You could use theatrical liquid smoke to help even more.

My Feedback: (6)
B17flyer, we never had to do anything weird to protect the wing. Just a thin piece of aluminum or aluminum tape. Worked perfectly! Made the launching system on an easily removable module complete with launching rails (very short as airspeed is already available).

I've been doing pyro on models for a while, just released my first DVD. If anyone has questions on the firing mechanism, I can give more detail.... Have an all electronic system that will fire up to 4 different times off of one channel.... Do not use estes igniters, total PIA!

Mike,
Impressive work indeed !
What I love is the lighting blades concept !! Very nice ! How does it work ? My guess is that you have a rpm sensor on your rotor, so that leds may diplay the right letters at the right angle... Right ?

i remember in RCMW a couple of years back.
People needed more trust with EDFs, so i remember
somebody strapping estes rocket engines in the exhaust,
so it gave, a nice smoke system with an afterburner affect,
and more trust!
I will see if i can find the article

Wow! I am so glad I found this thread!(even though its so old) I've been thinking about trying to make a missile system on my plane... I know how important it is to only do this in VERY unpopulated areas away from where ANYONE would be.... I just want to use a small A3-4T and mount it in a hollow plastic case on the wing. The case would have an open front, and semi closed back, to allow exit from the tube, and allow air for combustion while holding rocket in. The missile would be held in by g-force and drag (or a small piece of tape if you are so inclined :P)
I just have no clue how to ignite it... do you guys have any ideas for the ignition system?<br type="_moz" />

Hey Merlin,
I know Salisbury Plain a little too well!!! EX military and cas evaced off, after going for it too much in 90deg plus!!!
Larkhill School Of Gunnery........ hmmmmmmm have they got a runway??
If I could establish proper control of a missile, (it would no longer be a rocket) then that would be really quite something, and if launched off an aircraft, again, it would be spectacular. A bit like that NASA coverage of the scram jet, drop, ignite whhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
But, I go back to safety first, but one day, maybe one day, perhaps the PCM failsafe releases the chute early???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
