Default So Cal Jets

Hi All,

I'm going to be in southern California over the Memorial Day weekend and am hoping to see some Jet action. Where is the best place to go? I'll be staying about 45 min. south of LA.

THere are a lot of jets at Woodley Park in the Sepulveda Flood control basin.

Take the 405 norht till just past the 101 freeway. Exit at Burbank avenue, take a left. Go about 1/3 of a mile, and turn right on Woodley. The field is on your right about 1/2 mile up Woodley.

You are going to make it just in time, the parks department is getting ready to ban jets there. People just cannot or will not stay in the airspace. And it was not me, I have not flown there in 9 months.

Matt:

I can tell you have not been there for a while! The park is on the left.

Bob,
Mabey Matt is on to something here. I guess we will all turn right to fly jets from now on. Then by the time we get jets OK'd at Apollo 11, we'll switch back. O.K., Mabey not?

I didnt hear that about jets there. Where will we go now?

The final decision is not made yet. The president of the valley flyers is tring to get the parks people to make the field AMA, making the claim that this will provide for better control of the park.

Most of the guys flying jets there already have their AMA card so I am not sure what that would help. THere are just a few guys that always go out without spotters and you cant tell them anything. When they ban jets these same guys will argue with you that they had nothing to do with it.

Well, I'll support an AMA field if it becomes that. I hope that angle works. Matt can I give you a call about what paint to use on my A10? Rob said you had a sytem down that made a nice scale looking flat finish.
Thanks,
Will
