Engine Waiver Question ?
Hi hope someone can shed some light on this question, After reading the ama rule 533 it seems that a wren 54( non jde approved motor) can be built and flown at ama fields by filling out these forms and getting a special waiver, I allways was lead to believe that if its not ama approved you couldnt run it at a ama field thanks for your help.

Engine Waiver Question ?
Hi guys
Yes the kit mw54 from JD is AMA approved.
I will tell you what I like about JD he has done his homework and knows these turbines.
He is available almost 24-7 its also nice the person you talk with is the machinist trouble shooter and shipping department.
Home built
When your finished have a couple of friends over for coffee (one a CD one with a turbine waiver) run your turbine fill the paper work out &fax to AMA.
A week or 2 later you receive a sticker for your turbine now your AMA approved.
Now, I’m not saying building or assembling a kit is for everyone.
But I like the idea that I may notice the spin down on my turbine is short and know I need new bearings. The next day, I’m out flying.
Happy 4 Th
