Default Turbine controls

Hello,
I have never flown a turbine powered plane. However, i've been flying prop powered planes for a while.. Im not planning on getting into jets anytime soon. I still do have some questions regarding a turbine powered plane..
For a regular prop plane, we can fly one with 4 channels most of the time unless you wanna' add flaps, speedbrakes etc
I've heard that for a turbine powered plane, you need atleast 9 channels. What are the controls on a turbine? Is it possible to fly it with just 4 channels?

Most jets have the following:
1 - throttle
2 - ailerons
3 - elevator
4- rudder
5 - retracts
6 - flaps
7 - wheel brakes
8 - turbine control (some turbines don't have to use this one)
9 - nose steering
options:
10 - smoke
11 - bomb or fuel tank drop
12 - functional canopy

4- rudder / nose steering
5 - retracts

7 - wheel brakes
8 - turbine control (some turbines don't have to use this one)

I think if you set the throttle and smoke at the same channel will caused 2 problems. 1. You will have difficulty to see the plane before take off, the smoke will block runway if you don't have another switch to control it. 2. The smoke will run out in the first 1 or 2 min, and you will have no smoke in the rest of 4~6 min fly time.

Depends on the model that you are flying how many channels you really need.

Lets take a bobcat.

1. ailerons
2. elevators
3. throttle
4. rudder/steering
5. retracts
6. Brakes.

or hotspot.
1. Elevon
2. Elevon
3. throttle
4. rudder/steering
5. retracts
6. Brakes
7. Speedbrake (optional)

You don't need an expensive 9 or 10 channel radio to fly jets. BV even advertised the bobcat as a 6channel flyable plane.

My AV8R is only using 5 channels. I have my brakes mixed with down elevator.

My first turbine powered model, the Super Reaper, was flown on a 6 channel radio, using:

1- ailerons (two channels, one in each port)
2- elevator (two servos Y'd together)
3- 1 rudder
4- throttle (turbine controler)
5- brake valve

easily done on 4 if you Y'd the ailerons and activated the brake valve with full down elevator.

My AV8R uses the same controls as well, but has added flaps for one additional channel.
