RE: Korean War Vintage Jets
Matt,
I built a BVM F80, two F9F Panthers one was the Ziroli, the other one was Cato Horton's Panther and a Trim F86. The straight wing planes of the time have a presence in the air. I like the looks and flight handling of the Panthers!

Hi Ken,
Your work is awesome. How did you like the Horton Panther? THat is the one with the removable nosecone, right? Is it bigger than the Ziroli?
Thanks,
Matt

no question about it, the saber is the mustang of the jet age. Classic looking jet that is instantly recogonzied Panther a good second choice but very limited kits available.

Cougars and Sabres.
I have 12 flights on my JHH R500 Cougar, fast and smooth in the air but my landings leave something to be desired.
Planning on doing a standoff scale Sabre for the MW44 next. Can't wait. Meanwhile, going to work on flaps and low speed managment using a FACET.

Mig and Sabre, what a neat match up for a dogfight. I am biased towards the Mig because I worked on them {private owned ones}Lot of people seem like Cougars now. I had the JHH one with a turbine and it was nice but too small. At the time I thought me and Larry Wolfe were the only 2 people on earth with a Cougar, you really dident hear of too many people with them.

F9F-8 Cougar would be my #1 choice for sure. F-84F Thunderstreak is right up there as well.
I think you don't see them much because there really isn't one out there that's P-120 sized. If there was a good kit of the Cougar designed around the P-120 you'd see a lot more of them. Same with the F-84. I think both of these aircraft are long overlooked.

Of all the Korean War vintage jets, which one would be your favorite one to have (or do have) as an R/C Jet?

I have had two of them, both from Cato Horten.

I took this in April at an impromtu meeting of twin EDFs at El Toro. Left to right is my brother Daren's Su-27, Chris Wolfe's F-14 and the B-57B.
It's in the paint shop right now getting a nice coat of aluminum-colored paint.
