Default plasma-bag tanks ..

My questions is 2-fold ...

- per AMA we can not use plasma bags for fuel, however, can these be used for smoke fluid ? If so, i would use these on many of my jets instead of fumbling around with trying to squeze a hard tank in where there is not enough space ...

- this is just out of curiosity, would it be allowable by the AMA to run a plasma bag tank iside a kevlar or other tank enclosure ? this would probably be a good bubble-free set up, with no worries of clunk placement, itc .....

forgive my ignorance if any on this topic, as i came on the jet scene after plasma bags were already gone .... i do know you can still buy them from several of the european shops .....

Plasma bags were an easy way to carry a lot of fuel but due to the effects of our fuel
on the plastic they become brittle and split and in the event of a crash even if the fuel is turned off burst and remaining fuel
hits the red hot turbine resulting in a big fire.
dont know about your smoke fuels affect on it but i would stay clear of plasma bags, you never knew when they were going to split

Hi, i would think that the AMA would have the same objection to any flammable in a plasma bag. Now with the bag inside the kevlar tank sounds like a wonderful idea to prevent fuel spillage in event of a crash and the AMA could not have an issue with that. Scott

Smoke fluid that I've seen is not flammable. We're dumping it right into the exhaust stream and it smokes ... not flames.

Wojtek ... I had the same question a month or so back, but didn't get much of a response. I haven't installed my system yet and am still debating what to use. Let us know if you try them and what results you get.

well ... i know smoke fluid is not al that flamable .. but ever try to inject kerosine in the smoje injectors ? at idle its a nice flame thrower, but at 1/2 or more power (on a P80) it smokes almost like smoke fluid .. I actually dilute smoke fluid with either kerosine or diesel fuel by 1 part smoke fluid / 2 parts fuel(ker or dis)

i find that the smoke is just as thick, but way cheaper ... i go throuh 2 gal of smoke in a day easy, so i have to make it stretch ....

if i was to use a plasma bag however, it would be smoke fluit only ....

i gues i will have to figure out where i can stuff a lot of smoke on my kingkat ...... i was thinking of wet drop tanks also
