This question was asked a long time ago at RCO but in a general sense. I was wondering if anyone knows of any celebrities that are into R/C? In particular JETS of course!? I'm not talking about the celebs from the model jet world but television or movies celebs. I hear the Alec Trebec is an avid R/C'er but I'm not sure if he does the jet scene or not.

Mick Jagger. Used to fly sailplanes. Seriously!
And the guy who wrote "Up In the Air In My Beautiful Balloon", he used to fly sailplanes, too.

Adam Corolla (Manshow, and 'loveline' radio talkshow) flies, and he often talks about it on 'loveline' - has mentioned a jet before.

Bill Elliott (Stock Car driver) flies helicopters. Roy Orbison flew jets also. Ace Freley (don't know about spelling, but drummer(?) for KISS) flies helicopters I heard.

hello fellas!
Indeed Airton Senna, flew helicopters, nut he also liked ductfans(before his death there wasn´t many turbines around) and f-3a airplanes. i have some pictures of him with an Byron F16 in the cover of a brazilian magazine, and a close friend have on f-3a, some engines and other r/c stuff that belonged to him.
Are you kidding?Old Jagger flies sailplanes?if anybody here meet him, tell that i built one model for free(i´m a hardcore stones fan!)
also, Cristian Fittipaldi(indy car´s pilot) flies r/c helicopters...
all the best/fred

Yep. Mick flew sailplanes. Back in the seventies, my buddy Silas had an aparment Mick wanted to rent. Mick came over, and saw all of Silas' airplanes, and they had a long talk about it. Turns out Mick flew Graupner sailplanes, Cirruses and the like.
Like you, I am a hardcore stones fan. I put EXILES ON MAIN STREET on repeat when I am building. Could be the single best record ever made.

Nonsense! Boston's first album is the best record ever. I have heard from several sources over the years that Tom Schultz (Boston) flies or has flown.

Henry Fonda was lured into R/C by James Stewart. this was long before any type of jet, but Jimmy flew jets in the USAF including the B58 Hustler.

Ugh. That bad, overproduced milestone of corporate rock from the seventies. It was the beginning of the end. It started with Boston, and ended with Journey. Yecch.

If he flies RC, he is partially forgiven.

Jimmy Stewart flew free flight, and he and Fonda used to build and fly together.
Kingfish Sadler(Rochester from Jack Benny) was a pretty hardcore control line speed guy.
Of course, Reginald Denny, but that was before your time!

I think you mean Jed Clampit. Some people say he's the same man.
Well, have you ever seen Jed Clampit and BV in the same room at the same time?

Think about it...

Default Kingfish Sadler(Rochester from Jack Benny)

Everything I have seen lists Eddie Anderson as Rochester. Was there more than one Rochester?

Oh, man...the eagles...don't get me started on that Avacado Mafia bleached blonde vacuous tripe. The only good thing about the eagles was Joe Walsh, and he's from NEW JERSEY.

Marshall told me that Robert Deniro bought a whole bunch of megatech merlins and sky vectors and flew them out at his country place. I thought he was just telling stories.
Baby Doc Duvalier used to fly into NY in his private jet and buy TONS of stuff from AHC...
I think you are right, F9F...Kingfish Sadler was another comedian...both he AND Rochester flew CL speed. I have a pic somewhere...
Biggie Smalls, the DJ, was big into RC. But radio personalities don't count as celebrities, ha, ha....

Sure, I've seen them together plenty of times. Usually laughing it up at some post-Oscars bash out at Liz Taylor's place in the Hamptons...

Don't laugh at Jed Clampett. After the TV show, he produced a film called Macon County Line that has been the single most profitable film to its investors EVER. It had returned more money for each dollar invested than any other film in history, as of 1997 or so. I'd bet he could buy and sell BV several times over....

Finally, some SANITY around here. A quick dose of Pet Sounds serves as a fast antidote when your ears have been contaminated by some B****n, J****y, or F******r from a passing Trans Am or Camaro or something. I can't even type those names out loud, this is supposed to be a family website.

Hey, are you GAVIN MCLEOD, the Captain from "The Love Boat"? Can I have your autograph?

Hey, take it easy. Can't argue with what you are saying, but that's not what this thread is all about.
Where are you at ground Zero? I am typing this from Broome St, a couple of blocks away...

"EXILES ON MAIN STREET on repeat when I am building. Could be the single best record ever made."

could be?are you crazy?easytiger, let me tell you, i have more than 1000 records from the sixties/seventies and i can assure:that´s the record that defines rock and roll! along with sticky Fingers, Beggar´s Banquet, Abbey Road, Machine Head, Disraeli gears, are you experienced? and surrealistic pillow....

i know, we´re supposing to tal airplanes, but, we are wumans beings after all, and models aren´t the only thing on earth!

by the way, layla and other assorted love songs by derek and the dominos is another great "build along album"
