We had a great day.

Its set up day and we had about half the pilot count that we did last year for the whole event...

I think its going to be a great meet...

Thanks in advance for all that are comming...

Just looking skyward, watching David, Vernon, and Paul Lott burning holes in the sky.......at least I wasn't picking my nose.......had to leave early Friday due to renewed flooding back home, but Thursday was a perfect flying day, though scorchingly hot......thanks to Trevor and the gang for putting it together......

Also enjoyed Sterling Marlin's full-scale Falcon takeoff and arrival......

Today was a interesting day! We could have done without getting shocked by lightning while holding the tent down in the storm. Also that is the first time that I have seen a tent fly 50 feet up in the air and go 1/4 mile. Watching the toilets blow over was a first also! Other than those problems, It was a good day. I plan to go next year but would rather do without the things above!

Amen to that. I had just walked to Roger Shipley's tent, Then I watched it take off right over my head. Roger said, "everthing I have flys Great!". I should have told him no flying in the pits. We then tried to hold down the other tents nearby as the wind tried to take them away.
Roger's ended up several hundred yards away. I think it did a touch and go on the runway.
Thanks to Trevor, Mike and all who helped put this event on.

It was a great event, and great to meet so many guys that you only talk to on this site or read about in the magazines. David, Vernon, and that bunch of rowdies from Mississippi were constantly in the air, they were having a great time. The most satisfying thing about these meets is the things that you learn from seeing others and hearing about their mistakes. There was an absolute beautiful Bobcat that went in on Saturday and was totally destroyed. Post crash analysis looks like a brnad new JR switch that went "belly-up" while the plane was in the air. It brings to mind that we can be the best pilot in the country but a simple little $10 swithc can completely destroy months of worth and lots of money in a just a few secods. Thanksfully no one was hurt and from the looks of it, his engine is salvageable.
To Gary, Mike, Steve, Paul, Roger, Scott, and the rest of you "Yankees" it was nice to meet you and hope to be seeing you again soon.

It was a good event despite the storms! The best part for me was meeting the people that I had talked to on here. It is amazing how friendly and willing to help RC modelers are! Thanks for all of the help! You made me ( a new turbine pilot) feel right at home.

I want to thank Trevor and everyone else who worked so hard to put on a great Jet Rally. Although only in its second year, it is definitely one of the best jet rally values for the money. Fly as much as you want at a great County airport, well organized meet, receive 5 gals of free Jet-A, free dinner on Saturday night, and lots of pilot giveaways for only $35.

Thanks for the Southern hospitality! We will definitely be there again next year!

I have to echo Nick's comments great meet, fantastic flying site, and a chance to visit with some guys we don't get to see very often. Some notable airplanes there as well, Scott Harris....damn boy you are THE monokote king! Roger's A-10....what a beast. Gary J looks like your getting in the groove with the Kingcat. The Mississippi Gang had a great time, burned about 80 gallons of fuel and still left with full jugswith all the free fuel! We also have a new jet guy in our group by unanimous decision. Vince Grizzell made his first jet event with us, we knew he was a die hard suitable candidate for the Mississippi Gang when he was on the flightline Saturday. He took a drink of his Mountain Dew and was concentrating so hard on the jets in the sky that he forgot to swallow his drink and dumped half of it down his shirt.....Vincent...You da Man!!! Welcome aboard!

Sure glad it stayed toghether.Next time the tanks come off befor the flight. Had a blast hanging out with you guys. I'm already packing for Winamac. Trevor, hope to hear good things about the Cutlass. Keep us informed about the progress.

David.

You have another good guy joining the Mississippi Gang. I met Vince and he is a nice person and seems to be a lot of fun to be around! It was good to meet Vince and the rest of the Mississippi Gang. See you at Superman.

Scott, If that is Monokote on the F-86, then it must be Ultrakote on the F-4, huh? You guys make it look way too easy.
