Default Heat protect Engine Bypass?

I´m going to use an engine bypass originating from Jettech/Gary Muller (mix of Carbon/Kevlar), bought through Tam, for my Eurosport.

Do I need to heat protect the inside of the bypass adjacent to the engine exhaust cone (P160) ?

I can´t get in touch with Gary and I get different opinions, anyone tried this set up?

Regards
Thomas

I do that on mine, 2 to 3 thick coats of BVM Heatshield, starting just forward of the case to nozzle junction all of the way back to the pipe.

It is really needed the most on the top of the bypass, as it seems to radiate up most of the heat, after shutdown when the bypass air stops. When they are running right the bypass remains pretty cool.

To put heat shield on just moves the heat some where else. If you have about 1" around the engine should work OK. I don't use any.

Thanks for your inputs!
Since we´re talking about heat in a relatively small enclosure and epoxy is not that happy about high temperatures, I´ll go a head for for adding some kind of protection.
