Default Shipping Jets - Best Method Please

I'm not sure if this topic was covered before, but what is the best method for shipping jets? I have 2 ducted fan jets that I will be selling soon and need to figure out the best way to arrange shipping.

thanks,

I have heard people using self made crates.. OR, if its a bvm jet, it might fit into one of their jet cases.

If you can keep the crates in their size limits greyhound is awsome, the price is low and there is never a chance of damage due to over stacking. The boxes will get there fast as the bus goes which is faster than ups.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a TGA F-15 and a Byron F-16 plus a few other prop jets I want to move out.

Eric
They do not ship door to door. Package has to be delivered to the bus station and picked up at the destination bus station.

Forward Air has always worked great for me, but you are limited by their terminal locations.

You will need to drop the box off at any greyhound station and it will need to be picked up from one. All they need is the town it is coming from and the town it is going to. Here is the web site, (http://www.shipgreyhound.com/scripts...rcial&Pieces=1)

Eric when is a good time to call you?

DO NOT SHIP IN THESE !!!!!!! fedex and UPS will deny any claim for damage made in one of these !!!!! I bought a plane for $8000 through the BVM RTF page, and it was damaged !! FedEx denied the claim, and BVM as well as the original owner of the plane did not take responsibility either !!! BVMs statement they used to have about the jet cases being fedex or ups legal is not true !!! I learned the hard way by getting screwed out of $8K !

I have however never had any issues using the freight forwarding companies like forward air (used them around 8 times already) and yellow freight ... Forward air is the fastest and lowest cost, but you have to drop off and pick up at their facilities .... BAX global is also good , and fedex and UPS are good if you use an agent to pack and insure , or at least to seal the package .. (like the UPS store (formerly mail boxes etc )), that way they can not deny any claims based on inadequate packaging .., also, inspect the delivery before signing for it, even if it means making the driver wait, if its damaged on delivery , deny it !

if he padded it inside well, should be ok as long as the carrier does not mishandle it ... its just that you can get screwed if there would be damage ..... i guess i got hit with one of those 1 out of 10 chances of getting a damaged shipment , and it really sucked !! would also have been nice if the shipper took up ANY resposibility whatsoever (as the law actually requires a shipper/seller to do) []

Yellow is EXTREEMLY expensive, but you can ship and have the shipping charges paid at the time of pick-up at the final destination.

Yes it is a big difference in price but I have to dire 2.5 hours each way to get to a Forward Air location. There is a Yellow Transportation in almost every major city. Some times I am willing to pay a little extra to save 5 hours of drive time.
