Hey, nice plane!!! I was just curious, how is the prop slowed down from the turbine......gearbox? (I know the P&W pt6 is a split spool system with air twisting and turning 180deg. before exhausted). Look foreward to hearing about the 1st flight.....keep us posted!!

I'm more curious as to were you got a turbo prop. I've been interested in getting one but I can only find one on the wren web site. From what I read its still in the test phase----I could be wrong. Is there others out there?

mmmm where you in some kind of hybernation sleep?
i have been flying these turboprops (2 of them) since 2001/2002
search this forum for turbo raven turbopop
or great planes patty waggstaf extra 300 it also had this turboprop on it
anyway wren sells these turboprops also the us dealer does
however you are right about one thing you dont see to many flying thats true
i think the record was 3 at a time at jets over pampa,s last year
the cool thing is they havent been apart or serviced just cleaned and oil changed now and then
the good thing is that the powerplant behind it the wren mw54 is a nice little engine that always seems to start and wont flame out on you

RE: Pilatus PC-6 B2-H4 Turboprop
i flew the pilatus yesterday take off weight was 21 kilo,s (about 3 liters of fuel included) so i guess we where a little
wrong on the weight
it needed about 10 meters (33feet) and went airborne without flaps
extremely fast acceleration
landing was impressive , about 10% flaps
it was a little fast but we landed within 90 meters
i guess we do it reversed since the original needs less space to land then actualy taking off
this was just the first flight , so we need to get used to the plane and next time keep the rpm,s up and pull
more flaps
we just wanted to be safe since we want to fly this pilatus at lots of event,s this year in germany , belgium , and the netherlands
anyway we will fly it again soon and i will make a video
promissed!

Is this the same PILATUS PORTER ARF out of Germany??. My friend flying is with a G62 engine. How hard is the conversion to turbine.

what is the span?
the conversion is a piece of cake
it toulk me exactly 4 hours to build in the engine , inc all electronics
for the tank it is even more fun , since i dont have to worry about air trapped in the fuel lines anymore.
since it generates no vibrations from it self the firewall does not have to be improvedcan be made of just 3mm of multiplex wood
for the rest i mean there is such big space in the porter is it actualy fun to do so
for the exhaust you should have no problem since the whole hot section is covered with the engine cowl , i have just made some holes in the top to get rid of the heat since it is a little small there
i guess that is why the original porter also has a smaller spinner to get more cold air pass the hot section / spinner

but mine is not from that manufacturer
but is no problem for the wren turbo prop
mine weights 21 kilo,s 3.20 meters span after rechecking it but still fly,s very nice and the sound a realistic add on cant be beaten
so go for it
if you need help pop me a email
or better post it here it is nicer for other to read it also
