Bay of Quinte Jet Rally - The Aftermath
Pics have been posted to Radio Control Aircraft Gallery
A great weekend with excellent weather. Lots of unique jets, some "one off".
Coolest jet (IMHO) was the Facet 2400T (Twin turbine.) Got to spot for Kevin McLeod and witness it up close and personal.

Nope, it was definitely this past weekend... I guess something should have been posted here
Here is another shot of the F15 on a climb out, with smoke.
One of Peter Ayache's AV8R with Ram 500. Peter and I got to fly our Av8R's together twice, chasing each other around and haveing a great time. Being the fitst time I was ever at a rally, and flying with any other jets period, it was an absolute BLAST!!
One of Marc Thomson's Super Reaper/Wren 54 combo that absolutely looked great and went a lot faster than mine used to!
And finally a shot of Marc, Me (AJC), Gary (Kaptain Kaos) and Kevin from Great Northern Models... the models in front are Marc's Reaper, my Reaper and my AV8R.

RE: Bay of Quinte Jet Rally - The Aftermath
Well guys, BoQ '04 has set a new mark in my books for a great event. I can't remember the last time we saw weather this good.
Jim- Thanks for the kind words. The Facet 2400T is shaping up to be all that I had hoped - twice as much fun as my Facet 1200.

Johnny, would have loved to have you at BoQ. I have no idea why no one posted a reminder here. Perhaps we were all in that "Ah, someone else'll do it" mode. Silly us.
I'll be sure to post a reminder next year!
Here's something that is a bit unique to this event. Because we fly from the intersection of two runways, the pit area is very wide. So, there is a spectator area running up the middle of the pit area (it stops within a safe distance from the flight line.) This allows spectators to get an up close view of the aircraft in the pits. There is also a large spectator area to the right of the flight line, protected by 15 foot high fishnet fence.
The first picture shows the spectator area running up the middle of the pit area. We can pit our plans beside the spectator area, or at the edge of the runway. The turbine start up area is behind me, at the corner of the runway intersection.
The second picture shows the spectator area behind the fishnet fencing. The blue covered structure is the radio impound. The flight line is about 50' to the left of the rope.

Some serious scratch building going on here in Canada - a few planes I did get a chance to photograph below.
#1 - A scratch built (took him only 3 months to mold and totally finish it - AMAZING!) Sukhoi SU27 by J. Philippe from Quebec - powered with a BVM fan and Rossi engine (I think, my French isnt good and he spoke little English) it had only 3 test flights before the meet, but flew great! All fibreglass and carbon construction, well detailed. My photo doesnt do it justice.
#2 - an F86 done in the "skylancers" scheme, also a DF with an OS91/Ramtech fan combo, flew very well. Also totally scratch built and a one of.
More to come when I get a chance...

Here are 2 of that F 105 Starfighter. It belongs to Hans Vandongen from Burlington, Ontario. Its from an Avond's kit and powered by a P120 jetcat.
The pic on the ground is actually just at touchdown, you can see one wheel just off the ground.

Marty,
I got a few of your MB339 (D&L kit, with a T500 turbine) in the air too!
I shot a lot of pics and some are OK, some so-so but it was my first real time with the new camera (for thos who are interested, I was using a Canon 10D with a 70-200 f4 L series lens, camera set on sports setting) and I had a lot of fun in between flying taking shots.
