Tygon Fule tubing question
I'm new to turbine installation and was wondering about what fuel tubing is recommender for the fuel tank plumbing. Will Tygon fuel tubing used for gas engine installations work OK or is there a preferred type?

RE: Tygon Fule tubing question
I just located a chemical resistance chart and this is what it said about Kerosene:
A= Excellent
B= Good
C= Fair
D= severe effect / not recommemded
PVC(TYPE1)=A
TYGON(E-3606)=D
TEFLON=A
NYLON=A
POLYETHYLENE=D
POLYPROPYLENE=D
VITON=A
SILICONE=D
NEOPRENE=D
SANTOPRENE=D
I was supprised to see Tygon=D, It has been used by the jet guys for years.

McMaster-Carr has all sorts of cool stuff - among the goodies is Tygon tubing available in several diameters; all of which can be ordered in bulk form. Here's a link to their Tygon catalog page ...

RE: Tygon Fule tubing question
Just goes to show what you think is the best turns out the worse
It does go darker the longer it is exposed to kero just like the old plasma bags
probably because it is thick walled it lasts longer ???
maybe a good idea to replace it every season,imagine the fire that could occour
Anybody know a good supplier for teflon,nylon or viton

You don't see urethane on that list-that's what Jetcat is selling and I believe there are different formulations of Tygon-let me check later-I've got that all at the house. I'll scan the original compatibility chart and post it.

Here's an on-line compatibility chart, but I didn't see the different formulations of Tygon listed:

RE: Tygon Fule tubing question
Cole-Parmer chart does`nt list kero but Tygon gets an "A" for turbine oil and a "B" for paraffin
"B" standing for discolouration with use,so how much difference is there between paraffin and kero
