Skymaster F15 Video
Managed to get some video of my new Skymaster F15 on Sunday..... Not a full flight since my camera man ran out of tape but here it is anyway.....
I believe this is flight #6 for this airframe.
Hope you enjoy...

Very nice Todd,
My F-15 took wings this weekend as well, and looks to be as great a flier as yours. I think my engine must not be as conservative as yours, At 7 minutes I think the tank would have been just about dry. Good video, thanks for sharing.

RE: Skymaster F15 Video
Mine has only been flown from asphalt, but one landing was more of an arrival than a landing, thanks to too much flaps. I went over to the plane fully expecting to see loose gear mounts, or something knocked loose. No damage. The plane is very well built, better than 90% of the builders out there would be able to reproduce in the time and money that is involved here. I don;t think you can go wrong with this plane. My 750 is putting out around 24# of thrust, and she still gets off the ground with no probelm. Most of the flights have been at a comfortable half throttle. It is very responsive and will slow down, actually too quickly, if you are using the flaps. I won a gift certificate at TNJets this weekend and am probably going to order another one just to "scale out" will a different paint job.

RE: Skymaster F15 Video
Hey Guys....
This is the Taileron only version as well. Using power management I can squeeze 8.5 minutes from gear up to gear down with enough for one or two go-arounds. I have not weighed the aircraft yet but will asap. Takeoff is always full throttle and like most F-15's does take a bit to get on step regardless of power. The armament does add a bit of extra drag which will also extend the takeoff run a tad. I have flown the skymaster F-15 on a P-80 (ail/flap version) and the P-120 and top speed appears to be the same with better vertical on the 120. As tommy mentioned, the gear mounts are very stout and will handle rough grass/landings with ease. I see no issues flying this plane off gass runways although I would suggest the flap version to assist the takeoff run.
Regards,
Todd

with the f-15s layout, flaps on landing will add more drag than lift ... the plane will climb out better without them, when the plane is still nose down, the flaps act as airbrakes, and if anything, pick up the rear end, making rotation harder to .. (takes longer to get the nose up )

Very nice Todd. The Skymaster F-15 is a very impressive bird for an ARF. They seem to fly very well.
BTW is that a short field or is it just me?

RE: Skymaster F15 Video
Depends what you consider short .... 600 x 48 I believe..... Yes, I wish it was a bit longer but it does the job. only use 1/3 of it for the euro Nice flying site, probably the best site in the state of florida. Too bad I have to drive 1 1/2 hours to fly there []....

Yeah it looks really nice. I didn't notice the length when I watched the Euro fly, but in the F-15 video I saw the end on take off. I wish we had a grassy, shady place to fly here. I do have a 4000' runway but it is surrounded by desert and is HOT!

RE: Skymaster F15 Video
Hey Keith,
The SM F15 flies very well on a older P-80 (17lbs) so performance on a P-70 should be the same with the benifits of less weight and better fuel consumption ....
I think the P-70 would be a perfect match for this plane.
