Default Question about Pima Air Museum

Hi guys,

How close can you get the the planes at Pima? It looks like you can walk right up to them for picture taking?

Thanks in advance

Most of them you can get as close as you want. There's lots of them too and several one of a kind types.

Hi I have made several visits to Pima. It is a very large facility covering acres, and has many, many, planes. You can walk up to, and under almost all of them. Also, if you schedule it in advance, they will take you on a tour of the 'boneyard' at Davis Monthan. The only down side is that many examples are not as pristine as you might expect at a museum facility and it can be really HOT.

BTW, There is a terrific musuem in Denver, Wings Over the Rockies, with a great collection of jet fighters, indoors and in great shape. The have a T-33, F-86, F100D , F-14, A-4 and many more. It is worth flying to Denver just to see it.

Let me know what kind of pictures you need on the 105. I've got access to one whenever I want. Also F-15, F84, T-38, etc. PM me. Bob

Matt, you dont need to go all the way to Tucson- there is a 105 at the March field museum that you can climb all over if you want. (lots of other neat stuff also) Scott

hell matt.. kulczyk has those figured out. he flew in them. and his model gear is very nice. i know where his little wooden mockup is as well. rather simple yet elegant solution. i will gather what i have tho and email it on over. there is also one in dallas at cavanaugh as well.

Hi Matt, yes Mike has a 105 with a P-80 in it, also Reid and Roger here in Austin [RPM-Tech] are going to do a 1/8 scale and a 1/7th scale F-105. Ken
