Default Kingcat Flaps

I all ,today I started to set up my flaps with a JR matchbox and noticed I could not reverse the one servo while connected to aux. 1 the flap switch, I had to connect the match box to the elevator or ailerons to be able to reverse it.
When everything was hooked up I didn't like the slopyness of the new JR 2721, their must be a better way of doing this.
Any suggesstions would be appreciated.

I have 2721s in mine Pete....the linkage is quite tight....with only minimal slop in the full up, 1/2 down, and full down, as expected with such a large surface and only on servo on it....2721 are not quite as tight as 8411......

As far as not reversing with Aux 1, that's strange.....on the 10X, just disable the left slider by going to menu 17 and INH Aux 1 or Flap.....then go to Menu 11 and make sure Aux 1 is normal and not reversed.....then to Menu 66 and set throws like BV states in the manual....then back to main screen with Flap toggle in the up or (0) position......crank the matchbox over to#6, which is connected to the right flap, and toggle the Inc/Dec to get Reverse....then save it by going back to (0)before turning off the RX.....

Did you try the other Matchbox??

HI Tom, thanks for the info, tried it and it works fine. What threw me off was the manual, page 32, it told me to activate the slide lever.
Thanks Rcpete

Ditto..screwed me up during the final rigging/trimming process as the slider was at the bottom of the range. Should be disabled after centering the servo arms during the initial servo install.

FWIW, if you have not tried Rob Janiger's (RJRC) servo mounts - do it. They are awesome and make servo install (and removal to re-re-center the arms after you discover the situation above!) much easier. No more of the maple block BS....all 8 flight control surface servo mounts installed in just an hour or so (one Aeropoxy session!).

Pete ... mine are not sloppy but they are "spongy". Linkages have no slop, but I can move the flaps quite a bit when pushing on them ... the servo is "blowing back". I originally had 8611's in and they were rock solid. Was scared off from using digitals.

I've had no issues with the 2721's flying. I finally resigned myself to "just go fly" with the 2721's after hearing similar experiences from a number of other people.

Good luck ... let us know if you do something different and what you find.

Here's some pics of the kit and the flap servo install in my KC left wings...sorry the photos are a bit fuzzy, bad lighting...

Remember that a non-digital servo like the 2721 doesn't reach maximum torque until a fair amount away from neutral. It's also not going to have the holding power of a digital but then again, it won't have the current draw either. The 2721's work perfectly well in this application.
