Scale Jets International
Hi everyone. Frank Tiano here and I thought I might interject a little information concerning the new Scale Jets International event coming up in November at Lakeland Airport.
First of all, this is a Scale Contest, NOT a Fly-in. It is NOT an invitational either, any competant jet pilot may enter. There is NO Builder of the Model Rule, that means that any pilot may bring any aircraft he wishes, nobody cares where it came from! This will be a cash and awards event, static judging on Thursday and Friday, 4 rounds of flying on Saturday and Sunday.
I have been informed that some feel the entry fee is a little stiff. Yes it is! Reasons though are that we need to rent the airport and a bunch of support equipment. We have only 2 sponsors at this time, the rest is going to be funded by entry fees and spectator admissions. With that in mind, it has been further suggested that we allow pilots to send in just $50 of their entry fee initially and the balance by September 15th. That is fine with us. Just so you all know, the entry fee does include a commemorative item llike a shirt and the awards dinner ticket. Most important is that pilots realize that this is not an invitational. We are looking forward to having pilots from all over the World. You can get more info at FrankTiano.Com or on BVM's webiste. Thanks for lilstenning. Frank
