Default Biff pipe/fod screen thrust ??

Hello, just wanting to know how much thrust a biffricated pipe will rob your engine of in relation to a straight pipe. Also needing to know how much thrust if any a FOD screen will hurt you. My new project MUST have both of these and i am trying to decide on either a 12 lb or 18 lb class engine. Thanks Russ

A FOD screen does not make any measureable difference to turbine performance in my experience..

Bifurcated pipe thrust losses depend on the design of the pipe. You can lose as much as 5 - 6 pounds or very little if any.

Russ,
Your pipe been tested at 17 lb. It lost less than 1/2 a pound.
This is bellmount set up.
Hope that help.
Tam

the pipe i will be needing when i am ready to puchase will need to fit a top gun Mig 29. I am converting it and beefing it up where needed. I am trying to decide whether to put a 500 in it or to put a 750 and turn it down to 18lb. Russ
