Default SCALE ORDNANCE FOR JETS

hi All,

We are looking into making a variety of ordancne packs for jet aircraft and need to decide on what to hold, in what scale etc.

We're thinking 'winders, amraams, pheonix,s drop tanks, gbus, gun pods, rocket launchers etc etc etc.

even things like flir pods...anything really.

We've noticed people asking before but now we're ready to start pumping them out.

I thought i'd post here to get a response, collate, then respond.

So please post what you'd like to see in this thread.

I look forward to the responses.

Tim.

A flying buddy has just asked me to build a working minigun for his A10. Not to fire projectiles mind you, just produce the appropriate amount of flame and noise -- as you can see from my avatar, that's something I"m good at ;-)

Pictures and video of the A10 in question are on the Tokoroa RC club website

It ain't ordinance if it don't go bang :-)

Hi Tim,

If you could make a ordnance set for the Avonds F15 that would be great.
The Avonds F15 is 1/9th scale. I suppose a set containing 3 droptanks(2 wing, 1 center) with pylons and 4 missiles underwing(amraam, sidewinder) and maybe missiles for on the fuselage itself.

Regards,

Martin

hi Martin,

I cant see why not!

I'm hoping people will add to this thread and when i've got enough responses, we can go off and make them.

Do you know if there would be any other avonds models suitable?

Tim.

Just as a matter of interest (not wishing to muscle into "what_the?!"'s thread, is anyone else interested in some functioning cannons/miniguns for their birds?

The one I'm building for the A10 uses propane and should produce a pretty decent amount of muzzle-flash and quite a loud report. I'm not interested in making them commercially but if there is enough interest I may be able to find someone who is.

There are a lot of manufacturers making various sizes of F-16s now, but they all sell old ordnance. Quite a few countries use AMRAAM on the wingtip mounts instead of Sidewinders. I'd like to see 1/9 (plus other sizes) of the AMRAAM, Python IV, JDAM, JSOW, AIM-9X, Hellfire, HARM, and all those other ordnance types not regularly modeled. To fit my plane I'd need 1/9, but I bet there is a market for various sizes. Oh yeah, have smoke generators as an option so we can have wingtip smoke just like the demo guys use at Farnborough and Paris! Don't forget to make the rails, racks, TERS, and pylons too.

1/7 scale F-15(Byron) is what i'm looking for. I suppose if you stocked 1/9-1/5 ordinance you could find buyers for all. Drop tanks being specialized.

AD has a real nice ordinance kit for their F-16, molded tanks, MK84`s and pylons. Much better than that vacu form garbage,
V..

1/10 stuff as well. I'm thinking your selection should be appropriate if you include Aim-7's and some LGB's. Maybe some Mk II dumb bombs as well

I hope I am not being too picky, but, I would like to see the following for 1/9th scale:
AIM-9M Sidewinder
AIM-120B/C AMRAAM
AGM-88 HARM
GBU-31 JDAM

AN/ASQ-213 HARM Targeting System Pod
AN/ALQ-184 ECM Pod

and of course....
370 gallon Wing Tank
300 gallow Centerline Tank

I have a yellow F-16, I am thinking about getting an F-18 next.

Mark,

The Sparrow and Sidewinders for the Yellow Aircraft F-18 are a PERFECT fit for the Eurosport. I have a set for mine. I haven't built them yet, but the Sparrows fit right into the proper spaces on the fuse.
