To All RAM Customers:
As previously stated in other threads, I will be servicing all RAM engines. In light of what has happened, I'm diligently working to set up a quality repair station as fast as I can. For the time being, I will only be working on repairs that do not require balancing until I receive the proper equipment/machinery.
For those of you that have shipped your engines to RAM, I will be picking those up this week and will be contacting you shortly. I ask that we work together so we can make this transition as smooth as possible.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns at [email protected] or by phone at 786-556-3243 or 305-387-3243. (Keep in mind that I will have a new phone number in the coming weeks which I will post here.)

Hey Carlos,
This must be the best news I've heard all week. Thank God you stepped up to the plate. I'll be calling you soon for servicing.
BTW, are you still manufacturing exhaust pipes? I'll be needing another one in a month or so.
Best of luck, buddy!

Hi Everyone,
Carlos is a great guy to deal with and has fixed a few of my engines in the past. I would have no problems letting him perform all of my repairs.
I also have two of his awesome pipes.
Good Luck,
GeorgeR.

THAT IS GREAT NEWS!!
Will you also be able to handle all the electronic parts and service as well??
I have two older Air start 750plus engines with the then 2g ECU.
If Iam not mistaken that ECU was made by electrodynamics.
Thanks CARLOS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spoke with Andy from Electrodynamics at Mich Jets and he said he would handle any repairs needed for the Ram ECU he built for them.
Bob Price has stepped up and said, in another thread, here on RCU he would handle repairs on the ones he designed and built for Ram.
Thanks go out to both these guys for their support!

Thanks to all for your support!
Spyderling: Yes, I'm still manufacturing exhaust pipes...Call me with the dimensions.
jetsett: RTI is a privately owned company that has no relation with RAM. Unfortunately, I can't assume any RAM warranty.
Kelly: I can take care of electronics and service. As Terry stated, Andy Low is taking care of the old ECU's and Bob Price is handling all others.

It's great to know that you're back in the field. I really missed talking to you at RAM after you were gone.
Getting back to business, can you e-mail me how much a bearing change will be on a 1000?
[email protected]
Good luck on you new venture!
PS. Just like GeorgeR, I also have a couple of Carlos' pipes...Great quality and better yet GREAT PRICE!!!!

That great to here !!!!!!
I like this thread, I think Carlos is doing it right!!!
Its refreshing to see positive feedback and not the normal
mud slinging that takes place.
Any one of these Turbine builders could at any time say the hell with it and move on to a real money maker!! We should thank all the manufactures for making the most fun you can have with your pants on.

Thanks for the support. We could have moved on years ago to other better businesses. I decided to stay to the end and know that I gave it all that I had. At the end I am glad to know that RAM made a difference. I have tried and will continue to try to turn over the RAM name to others that may succeed in the areas we failed. I believe Carlos will do a good job of taking care of all the service. He has currently picked up all the engines that were at the shop. He will call all the customers. Have Patience with him. It will take some time to get set up.
Hope to see you all soon. Thanks

As Albert previously stated, today I picked up all the engines that were sent to RAM for repairs. If you had an engine at RAM, please contact me after 7pm at 305-387-3243 to discuss thouroughly or I will contact you later this week.
I look forward to the beginning of a long business relationship with each one of you.

I wasn't gonna say anything until Carlos announced his new business, but now I can tell all! I was having a terrible time getting the "software" to operate my SimJet 1700. When the engine did run, it was an absolute marvel. Unfortunately, the ECU was very particular as to when it would allow me to run the engine and when it would prohibit me from doing so. In any event, Carlos asked if he could use my engine as a test example to see if he could adapt his current software to my engine and turn it into one that would run when I wanted it to, not when it felt like it. The results are absolutely fantastic! So far, it has never failed to start and has run perfectly. By the way, the Simjet engine itself is an incredible piece of equipment, it is extremely smooth. I now have new software, a " read-out terminal" that I have never had before and a relaible engine to boot. I whole heartedly recommend that anyone with a Simjet with crappy software, allow Carlos to perform this upgrade. He just converted a piece of junk to an absolute jewel. I'll keep you posted with updates. FT

First let me satisfy further questions by telling everyone that the first thing I must do is get this "combination" approved by the AMA, a process I will commence first thing Monday morning. By the way, I am calling this new hybred a "RamJet" !! The total cost of my particular job is not an accurate indication of what it will cost everyone else because the number of hours of R&D that went into mine will not be charged to any of yours. I assume that Carlos will have an attractive conversion price, depending if you need the "magic box" or not. Nobody would be expected to pay what I paid, so I will leave the pricing announcement up to Carlos. Thanks again, FT

Who is going to take care of the financial responsibility that RAM has to their customers? Such as, anything that was paid for and not delivered, anything that was delivered that is defective, etc., etc.
Carlos has said he will not cover any warranty issues.

I don't think that there is a bonified answer to that question as of yet. Possibly, some other company will take over the manufacturing and therefor, the warranty, of RAM. If not, I guess it is no different than what happened to the folks at Enron. Bad break to be sure. But maybe we ought not paint the bad picture just quite yet. We really haven't heard of anybody who has gotten hurt by RAM's decision yet, have we?

I would kiss it good-bye. I'm stuck without my 1000 that blew up 10 runs after upgrade. Tad had it for 2 months, and then I sent it to RAM. They said they refused it but that was 3 weeks ago and I don't have it back. Also, Price has yet to return my emails, phone messages or my ECU's he's had since March.
My sad story is just the tip of the iceberg. There are many who have gotten burned for a lot more. I by no means have the inside scoop on all that ocurred, but I know the bad news is extensive.
Maybe whatever rises from the ashes will do the right thing, but the debt is huge, I doubt if they could afford it. It seems the only way anything could be done is without the liabilities of the old company.
