I am getting a low battery reading on my EDT. I read the directions in the manual then tried to charge it off of my field charger with the cord they provided. Nothing wouldn't take a charge. I also tried a Futaba wall charger and got the same results. Just wondering if anyone knows what could be wrong. I thought it charged every start up off of the ECU pack,
Thank you

Are you trying to charge it with a charger.
I think you just use the plug they sent you and plug it
into 12 volts. The EDT will charge the battery.
I think.
I suggest you cut the white shrink wrap and
replace the 9 volt battery inside with an
energizer. It should last at least a year.
Then tape the EDT back together.

I am posting this for Kevin Green:
If you connect your EDT to a charger you must make sure that it only puts out 15 ma max or you could damage the EDT battery, charging circuit or both. When you now attempt to charge your EDT does the light on the charger register that you are charging? If not, then the battery is more than likely shot. Replace the battery (it is an 8.4 volt nicad that looks like a 9 volt transistor battery). I replaced mine with a nickel metal hydride with higher capacity. Either can be purchased at Radio Shack. The instruction book says to just charge the EDT with any 12 volt DC source---the internal charging circuit in the EDT will regulate the charge. Have you tried this? Let me know how it goes. Kevin Green.

Scott,
you can use the banana plugs in the power panel in your flight box. I also have a Hitec field charger that will handle up to 24 cells. If you are in need for the Omaha event, let me know and I will bring it along or you can use my EDT. Also have the software that we can connect to a laptop that I will be playing with this weekend since I am grounded. Looks like I will not be able to fly, as the radio took a dump and has to go in for service (caused the loss of the Maverick).

I called AMT yesterday and got it solved. That's a total bummer about your radio. I'm sure Kevin will give you some turns on the 15. I'm following Brandt down early tomorrow.
See you then
