Paul

Any post with pictures of the lights from you here in the Jets forum would be moved to product announcement forum. If you have any problems with it, please send PM or an e-mail to the rcadmin.

Unfortunately, all my attempts to resolve this issue with you offline you decided to ignore. I’ve even asked you to PM you phone # to me so I could call and discuss this problem with you and you have not deemed it necessary to do so.

Your post was not deleted but moved to the appropriate forum because you manufacture and sell lights for RC airplane. Leaving it here in the main discussion forum violates RCU rules. I could have moved it to bad post holding forum where no users could see it but out of courtesy to you, I moved it to the announcement forum and sent you a PM informing you of the move.

Regards

Ben

Paul,

Perhaps you ought to learn to play the game like all the others here at RCU. There are product announcements ALL THE TIME in the JET FORUM. What happens is someone other than the MFG announces it. It's a game that is VERY visible. You could let your customers know and perhaps one of them can "Spill the Beans"

I have not received any PM from you. Did you send a PM or e-mail? I have received 3-4 PM's from Sean with regards to this problem and I have replied to each and every one of them. Sean, if you have your ears on, could you confirm this?

Please check and verify that you sent a PM to me.

You could also reach the RC_Admin by sending a PM to RCadmin.

Ben You are not telling all the facts. I have tried to do this off line and I have sent you my phone # several times today and you still try to put it back on me.
I am not trying to sell these lights (afterburnners) on this forum. I was shairing a idea with the list and asking for ideas. You assumed I am selling these and you are wrong on this one. I feel that I have been discriminated against on this one. Yes I do sell Leds for lights and you know where. ( notice I did not say ) And you have made it clear that if I want to sell some I could do so under a commercial seller in the classifieds. so Why would I do it here.
Other coments from the RCU users is appreciated PLEASE.

Mike
I have tried to. I called several people I know and there posts were Deleted also
Several people have tried and Ben keeps locking or deleteing them.
It is not right anyway you look at it.
What realy burns my hide is if someone else is talking to someone ( not me) and they
mention my light sets and tells him or her where to find them their post is deleted. I am not just
talking about today but in the past months. I have seen it time and time again, and it is wrong.

I am not the only person complaining about this, I am one of many.
I know someone else who had this problem and you all know who it is, I am trying to call him to find out how he got it resolved. Paul[>:]

i looked at the post, now i am no moderator, but sure seems a lot about nothing to move it. i did not see a mention of sales etc. as for as explanations from mods, i am always skeptical of what mods post they did and what they really did. i was in a tussle with a couple here on rcu and i tried to handle it via pm's, and in a weeks time i never got one reply from anyone involved with rcu. and especially nothing from the mod involved, who i pm'd directly. so i come to realize rcu, as much as i enjoy this site. it has a few working here that is just like the real world, where talk is cheap and action is never seen. anyway, guys i hoped you get this settled and remain friends. good luck

The following is the only PM I just got from you. Please take a look at the date and time stamp on it and decide on the person not telling the truth.

I just attempted to call you after receiving your PM and your line was busy and I sent you another PM detailing so. I would attempt to call you again in 3 minutes so we could resolve this problem.

BTW, you could go to your PM tracking and post the date and time stamps on the PM’s you claimed to have sent me for other to judge.

Regards

Ben

I went to the "proper forum" and read the post. How in the world is this considered a product announcement? Paul was trying to share a great idea with those that may be interested, and asking for helpful suggestions to improve his idea. Come on moderators, do your job and follow the rules!

Ok Guys
I just got off the phone with Ben and we worked out the proplem.
So lets throw a bucket of water on this one.
Rules are ment to change in time and we have to work on this one. The jets are high tec
and ideas should be shaired. Don't know what else to say except.
Fly often and Fly safe!
Dam I feel like I just went 10 rounds in the ring.

I hear ya, Jeremy!!!!-----Here's a golden opportunity for RCU to listen to us by removing something from a "bad light" (Sorry, I couldn't resist the pun!!!) and turn it into a positive....

How about a separate product announcement listing and link just for jets. Like many of you, I don't have the time nor the patience to sift through all of the other announcements to try to find the very few jet related announcements. It sure would make RCU even more user friendly---How about it??????

Wow.. this is starting to sound like what happened over in the ****************** forum ( now deceased after a very similar ruling by the moderator). All the ProBro's jumped ship after RCU shut down their forum when they challenged the moderator's call.

It seems that if you argue with the mods over what constitutes a "commercial" posting, you risk having them close down your forum and kick you out.

Take care the jets forum doesn't go the same way.

Jeremy, it's under the forum for Batteries. Ya, the product announcements for Jets is under the forums related to talking about batteries.

Makes sense, right?

LOL, what a joke. The way it should be is just like they have a short link for jet classifieds at the top, there should be a link over to product announcements for JETS!! NOT 40 SIZE TRAINERS ETC.

I actually suggested that about a year ago, back when I was still a mod. Got shot down at the time, but you might get luckier this time. Make a post about it in the suggestions forum, or PM Marc or Michael, and see what they have to say.

BTW, for all of the posters who think you know better than the mods how to handle such a tough and thankless job - why not put your money where your mouth is and volunteer to help ? Tell Marc you'd like to sign up as a mod, and donate 15+ hours per week of your time to show us all how much better you can do that the current mods.

I think that is a good idea. Put a link for ideas such as the one I was trying to shair with the Jet Guys.
Maybe RCU might take notice and change it. I hope so.
Thanks for the ideas and the surport.

Gordon, I didn't know that Paul had the ability to sell lights and neither would anyone else that doesn't know what he does.

I read the original post and thought "wow, what a neat idea" that was it. Never occurred to me that this guy sold them.

Ben "knows" that Paul sells lights. Had Ben not known that, would the thread have remained the way it was? OF COURSE!

My whole thing is that I want to know what the standard is. IF I COME OUT PUBLICALLY AND SAY THAT I OWN JET JOE TURBINES, does the thread get moved because I posted in that thread?

If no one knows that I actually own Jetcat and I post a picture of a new widget shown on a Jetcat engine, does the thread remain?

In this specific case, the moving of that thread was insane, not even close to bending or breaking any known RCU rule.

And Paul, you should never have agreed to let Ben remove the post from the product announcement forum IMO. I wouldn't have.
