Default F-15 first flights

Put the first flights on my new Avonds F-15 with P-120 power. The performance is everything I hoped for. Takeoffs have authority and the vertical is fun. Still getting used to the new bird but she flies great.

I did not have the cockpit installed at the time of the flights..so the front office looks a little bare..

A gentleman at the feild was very nice to have taken pictures of the flight. Thanks to Mr. Walker for the photos...

Here is pic of the startup...

Beautiful F-15, and what a beautiful field! What I wouldn't give for a paved runway surrounded by green grass out here!

Congrats! And have fun.

Thanks for the comments..

Tony, We are blessed with a nice feild, alittle on the short side, at only 380' you have to be right on the numbers...

Default Love it when a plan comes together

Great job Kevin! I was wondering....for your jet first jet..the Avonds F-15, would you still have gone with the Mercury or now(since you have flown both) would you have chosen a 28lb class turbine? Does the 20lb turbine vs the 28lb turbine make any difference as far as the "ease of flying"?

Thanks

Mike Morgan

Default Congrats

Very nice Kevin,

Its always good to see a new 15 in the air.
I wish you lots of luck with it and I can guarantee you that you'll have a great time with it as they are excellent birds.

Default F-15

Nice job with the 15, you will love the 120 too. I will echo what Tony F. said, nice runway surrounded by smooth grass, us desert dwellers have pavement and dirt!! I want to spread out a blanket and have a picnic out at your field!!

Vin...
