Default Ozark Mountain Jets

All Jet Pilots!

Everyone is invited to come to Sullivan, Missouri to fly with us at the first Ozark Mountain Jets . It is just one month away; September 6th, 7th, and 8th, which is the Friday, Saturday and Sunday after Labor Day.

We will be flying at the Sullivan Regional Airport which is a very nice facility for our needs. Clean Jet-A is available at the site as well as a large hangar for overnight storage of planes. 4500' by 75' concrete runway which is oriented east/west +/- a few degrees with the pilots stations facing north. That should mean the sun will be behind your shoulders all day long in September. Much more information about the location and flying site, including pictures, is at our website which is listed below.

Bring the family. There are lots of choices for other activities for them if they get bored at the Rally. Six Flags St. Louis is just 30 minutes away. Meramec Caverns and State Park are also nearby. It should be a great time for everyone!

Make your reservations now to have the best choice of rooms. Here are some links to Sullivan hotels:

There are other hotels/motels in and around Sullivan. For more rally information, check out page 7 of the current issue of RCJI or go to our website at:

P.S. Yes, I know that this is the same weekend as the Greater Southwest event in Texas but we thought that an approximate 800 mile separation between event locations would be sufficient so that neither rally would interfere with the other. Sorry if that was a miscue. We will try to do better next year (if Sullivan invites us back!) on the scheduling but there are very few weekends available without another rally going on somewhere in the country.

For those arriving early on Thursday, the airport is open that day but we will be allowed to fly . The airport, although it is a very nice facility, does not have very much full scale traffic. We will just have to be watchful so that we don't interfere with full scale operations. Flying will also be allowed after 5 PM when the event is officially over for the day. The same common sense applies during this time period.

We have started receiving some pre-registrations. If you know you are coming, we would appreciate pre-registration so we will have a better idea of how many pilots to expect. Our website has a pre-registration form you can print at:
