I will be in the Burbank California Area this Thurs, Friday, Sat (Oct 7,8,9) Are there any local hobby stores or jet flying this weekend?

Since moving to San Diego in 2000, I don't fly in the LA area (anymore) but your best bet is to go to Apollo 11 Field/Sepulveda Basin (it's at 6201 Woodley Avenue in Van Nuys/Burbank area), per my GPS the entrance is at N 34° 10.431' W 118° 28.930'.

As to local hobby shops, if you like "good old timey" style, mom and pop hobby shops, there are two you have to visit:

Tony and Addie's The Hobby Lobby
At 3512 W. Victory Blvd, near the corner of Hollywood Way in Burbank... (818) 842-5062. A must visit, where else can you still find free flight and U-control supplies (and plenty of it)?

Jay Replogle's Hobby House

Colby Evett’s place (Evett's Model Shop), 1636 Ocean Park Blvd. in Santa Monica, (310) 452-2720. About 25 minutes or so away, only 10-15 minutes (or less) from downtown.

YEP, got one of them too. Robin has been geeting all my stuff for me for over 14 years. He does not carry Jet items per say, but will get you just about anything. He does carry a very small selection of BV accesories (left overs from what I need LOL)
