Hey Fellas,
I THINK I am having an issue with my retracts. This is not JET related as they are on a P-51, but I know that you guys would probably be the best help.
The problem.... Pnuematic retracts that operate somewhat jerky. I have flow control valves on EACH retract to try to obtain the best control. I have NOT flown the plane yet, so I am thinking that vibration may actually help. I am also planning on removing the retracts and using some white lithium grease on all friction areas.
The question.... What do you guys think? Are they just that way or can I get them to smooth out some? The retracts that I have seen on many of the jets seem to be pretty smooth.
I know that I should simply try to lube them up a little and then fly it to see how they do in flight, but just thought I would ask to see if there was any help prior to flying. These are ROBARTS by the way.
Thanks,
