I AM CURRENTLY BUILDING KANGAROO WITH EXTENDED BOOMS, SIMILAR TO THE BOBCAT, TOPCAT, ETC. THIS MEANS THAT I WILL HAVE A CONVENTIONAL, SEPARATE AILERON, ELEVATOR SET UP AND NOT ELEVONS.
HAS ANYBODY ANY EXPERIENCE WITH USING THE INNER PORTION, SAY 35 %, OF THE AILERONS AS FLAPS / AIR BRAKES ?
I WILL BE SETTING UP THE CONVENTIONAL ROO SPEED BRAKE, BUT WAS WONDERING WHAT THE EFFECT WOULD BE IF ADDITIONAL OR CONVENTIONAL WING MOUNTED BRAKES WERE USED IN TANDEM OR SEPARATELY FROM THE SPEED BRAKE.

See if you can get hold of him. Your help might be in your back yard..

Folks, thanks for your replies.
Here, in South Africa, importing kits from overseas is an extremely expensive exercise, due to exchange rates etc. The final cost would be of the order of double the cost that you guys would incur. Besides, I enjoy designing and building from scratch. Having said that, I must say that the Bobcat XL is a beautiful looking machine !

A few other questions - how high above the thrust line is the stab on the Bobcat ? How do you guys fix your wings in place ?
Thanks, Flymick
