Hi all
Went out to the field tonight to take a few spins around the field to test the taxiing characteristics of this plane. Our field is mowed pretty short. The pretty would not even move.
ANy suggestions? I have heard of other people taking off of grass successfully with this plane. I have noticed that my main gear are swept foward a little. Would this have an effect?

I test flew my CBM F-16 off a grass field today. I had no problems. See my "Need help balancing..." post.
However I had to change my tires to a firmer style. The original tires that came with the model wouldn't let the plane get up to flying speed.
FWIW

I fly off of grass with mine all the time. I have small wheels that are not that firm. What I do is give myself at least 300 ft of runway. I punch the throttle to let it get up to speed. One it is up to speed I give full up elevator and she takes off. Once airborne I drop the nose a bit to allow her to get up on step. Now I flying. I'm using a YS .45 with a MACS muffled pipe. An APC 10x6 pusher prop. A McCoy #9 plug using YS 20/20 fuel.
With this set up The engine is turning at 16000 RPM. I noticed if I'm below 14000 RPM (during my earlier flights) I had problems taking off.
Hope this helps.

What are you guys using for the dual elevator setup? I have an older Futaba 1024 (non comp.) and the split elev. servos travel in the same direction, giving me elevons! Do you guys use a reverser, or mix with a comp. radio?
I have even considered using a Hitec servo on one side because it rotates the opposite way of the Fut servos
Thanks,
james

I built mine like the kit recommended. Elevators with 2 servos, ailerons with 2 servos, rudder with those and the rest of the servos mounted in the nose.
