Has anyone checked the speed of a Kangaroo with an 18 lb. engine on it with radar?
Curious about an actual recorded speed.
I'm guessing about 180 mph level flight, no dive beforehand.

Pete,
I am flying with a Simjet 2300 and bouncing off the limiter (set at 200mph) all day long. I have a buddy with the 1700 and his limiter was set to 185 and he was bouncing off it too. I would imagine it is capable of 200 easy. BTW, I have my 2300 dialed down to 20#. Unlimited vertical at 125-140 mph...

with 8.5kg thrust our hot Spot was measured with 320km/h (by GPS, Garmin emap).
the same turbine in the bandit, and the speed was 420km/h.
it shows that the aerodynamics is the limiting factor. you can put an AMT Olympus on a Roo or a Hotty and they never will be really fast. unlimited vertical however.

What a fun combination to fly, I could do it all day and never get tired of it.
