I'm working on a new sport jet and was wondering, should I go with aluminum tubes or bars for spars? I've seen jets designed both ways and wondering which is better/stronger. Each wing panel will be either 35" or 40" in lenght with a 2" thick by 20" root wing chord.

A vertically mounted bar should be stronger under compression than a tube, of course, the tubes don't seem to mind the loads either.
