Ok! I didn't get the pin pulled..But all you had to was turn off the propane.Anyway no damage, and we get to start again.

Hi David, Its a great flier and I have two seasons on my one now, T-500 power in my one... Of all my jets this one gets the most flying time. Most guys seem to be flying them on larger turbines, but she does perform best off sealed strip with the smaller 12 lb thrust class engines I reckon due to lower wing loading I guess... Landings are a breeze nice and slow even without flaps, pity Cermark seem to have stopped making them???

Marty, do you have the bent main gear wire? If so, does this cause 'hopping' on landing?

I will be flying the kit version this spring and haven't decided if I should move the retracts or not.

Jim, yes I have stock Spring Air gear, wire mains and modified Interco nose oleo with BVM sport wheels all round... It must be something to do with the heavier wing loading with bigger/heavier engines that causes the potential problems with bounce on landing, I have read about this quite a bit from guys flying the MB with P-80 and bigger engines installed. Personally I have never had even one bounce or any problems whatsoever with my MB landing too fast. I think the 'hopping' scenario comes from having to land quicker due to obvious higher wing loading and having to use the flaps to try and slow her down..... as I said previously my one lands so slow with T-500 I do not need to use the flaps at all, even with the smaller engine she moves out nicely at around 140 mph.
If you do plan on modifying the mains at all I would suggest removing and modifying molded wheel wells and getting hold of some trailing link oleo struts for mains as well as nose this would also assist reducing landing bounce concerns. If I was building a new one I would definitely do the main gear mod adding oleos that will fit as well as the nose oleo mod... I don't see how actually moving the main gear location would be of any benefit???

Do away with the plastic tie wrap that holds the pin and just slide a small piece of fuel tubing over the end of the pin.

Marty, the idea was to go to straight struts; but to do so would require moving the retracts back. The wheel still needs to retract into the same wheel well location (and same location on the ground).
I don't want to mess with trying to find trailing link struts. These are soooooo short!

I will fly it on a MW-54. Maybe this is all unecessary anyway........
