Time to get back in the shop and paint the 2nd coat of BVM heat sheild to the top cover ,and under the bottom of the turbine bay.

The brakes were in my junk pile of old jet parts one works great ,but the other is leaking air then you roll the wheel I now remember why thay were in the junk pile and if I can't get them fixed soon I will order some from Sierra Precision thay make the best brakes I have ever used.

Looks like a very neat gear installation. I would now advise everyone to install FOD screening to the intakes. Both Sandor and myself have suffered damage to our turbines due to dust / grit ingestion due to suction from the intakes. Sandor's pictures show the way to do it.
Good luck with getting a turbine for your Intro.

the stuff i use is indeed extremely fine mesh
it is almost like a dust filter
that is why you need more opening otherwise you will get problems in letting air thru
i got it once from a friend

When I looked at mine, I found that the key hole blocks were screwed too far up at the factory, and this is why there was an alignment problem. My guess is they they just screw them in at the factory and don't set them to any particular depth. I just unscrewed them a couple of turns and they were all perfectly aligned with the outer holes.

I suppose what I am asking is, did you add the new intakes to reduce the volume of intake air at the sides or, did you add them because you had the very fine mesh over the side intakes.

and can clean your runway while taxing[
]by opening the other intakes it would not do this anymore
i added both the stock and
the extra large opening
and now all is ok for the finemesh filter.

I have found some tea strainers with quite a fine mesh and will modify mine like yours!
PS - I learned to fly at MFK Lenticularis in Lelystad!

Yeah I did...I also noted he was using an oleo strut. Were these to be included with the Spring Airs in lieu of the wire strut?

The strut WD40 is using is the same as the one I used, an Oleo strut that is provided with the Reaper kit from Mick Reeves. It may be one available off the shelf, but I do not know that for a fact. He and I have communicated about this, that is why I know the answer. I too am using the same nosegear strut.

The screen on the scoops is 50 by 50 mesh 304 stainless steel. It measures 4" long by 2 1/4" high with bends at 3/8" in from each end. I tack it in place with cyano and then apply a bead of 5 minute epoxy smearing it into the screen. The screen was purchased from mcmaster.com part #9230T628. Open area 52.6%
The hatch openings (2) were located between two bulkheads and measure 2 " high by 2 5/8" long. Locate 1/2"-3/4" from hatch bottom. The location shown in the pictures below is at 1". Go lower to avoid messing with the trim color scheme. I removed the stringer. The screen is 18 by 18 mesh 304 stainless steel and measures 3 3/8" long by 2 1/2" high. mcmaster part #9230T622. Open area 70.4%. The total "open area" now exceeds the "as supplied" area by over 10%.
I don't know if this will help eliminate the FOD you and John suffered, but it seems like a good idea to me.
Maybe Alan has some thoughts for us? I do notice on some pictures of Boomerangs that the scoops are located on the hatch.
Mcmaster.com has many more wire cloth meshes too. Average price is $4-$5USD per square foot.

it is just some have problems some dont.
this fod screen solution is a nice add on and maybe can be sold as a optional item
i am sure alan will make the kits even better in the next run
and to look here to see small problems makes the next one only better and better i hope

does anyone has a spring air 700 series? with bulkhead mounting?
i believe these have a big pickup for the oleo,s? about 10MM?
can anyone confirm? the size schould be the same as the 300 and the 100 series

I think the 700 Springairs come with an aluminium plug which you can use for the supplied 5mm wire legs or remove it for 10mm oleos.

but no problem i have a small lathe so i can make the new plugs
lets make a call somewhere so i can buy a few sets.
i have over 30 flights now on the boomerang perfect everytime.
