You no Dave, After looking at it, you right. If I shift the whole unit over to center the wheel once the brake is on. It just might work. THANKS...............

Dave, Been working on the front retract all evening. moving the retract off center should work. I'm trying to minimize the width of the entire wheel assembly. It looks like I have to put a wheel collar on to hold the wheel on. BUT, in you post on page (13) you are useing something different. WHAT THE HECK IS IT??????????? Thanks again for your time Dave

Hi,
I did fit 2, as per the instructions, I think alan changed it, but it makes more sense with one... and the horn is over the hidge line. (that pic was before i modded it)
i just got back from school now, I trimmed the engine mount, hopefully it will fit now.
EDIT: Its still to big!!!!

I have to agree with rorywquin, The model is very well designed and goes together very easy. But the front retact is a challange. When useing the Kavan electromagnetic brake system. Things are tight. I'm following RCGUY's advice and pictures and hopefully by tonite I will have it installed.

RE: new Arf Boomerang 14lb thrust
I bought the electromagnetic brake for mine but after surveying the project I was getting into to make it work, I decided to go with Robart struts and Intairco wheels with Air brakes on the mains. It added some weight but I'm still around 15 lbs with a full UAT and 10 oz. of ballast in the nose. Spring Air retracts.

RE: new Arf Boomerang 14lb thrust
Soooooooooooo. Is it really important to have a elevator on this jet??????????? ( Just kidding) Mounted the center section to the main fuse tonite and mounted the main tank. Things are lookin GREAT till I realized that I forgot to run a wire for the evevator. Got wires for everything else though...... DOH. Guess I wasn't thinking. Before I start to fish another wire for the elevator "Is the elevator REALLY important??"

ARIZCOWBOW & John Agnew,
Thank you for your inputs. I just need to gather some throw away money's and then I can get a Baby Boomer on the way. I currently have an older BVM Sabre, (Built as a turbine) with a P-70, but my local field is a little small for it (300' asphault). So, i thought this would be perfect for local stuff.
Thanks Again

RE: new Arf Boomerang 14lb thrust
Well
after an exhausting 4 hours in the workshop, i managed to get the turbine mounted!
I had to lift the engine up a little as it was hitting the wing, and I really did not
want to trim the wing now!!
I put about 4mm ply, and used some washers to lift it even more. That also
meant more trimming to the hatch was needed. Also alot of trimming to the
alu mount it-self. But im back home now and happy with it. First run up
should be on Tuesday.
Any ideas where i can get parrafin in north london?

WOW! What a shop!!!
WOW! What a shop!!!
As for the balance I just put it all together now, and it balances at half the wing chord,
That is without the UAT installed, and from retract/leg installed. I might upgrade to bigger batts if
it still doesn't balance right, I wll keep you posted.

Volkan,
Did you sort out the flap clearance OK after our emails?
Looks like you have raised the P80 to get it in, or is that just the photo angle? If so watch the heat getting too close to the tail height with that big turbine. Also I suggest you add 2 or 3 degrees downthrust by adding washers under the front to raise the front of the turbine.
Lots of places to get paraffin (Kerosene to the colonials!!) in N. London.
Good garage in London Colney has a pump dispensing P. and many DIY stores in Harrow and other places too. Give me a call if you have difficulty.
