Default Thrust Vectoring

Looking at these new aircraft that Boeing and Lockeed are putting out these days with that ever so popular Thrust vectoring technology that will revolutionize the flight envelope for jet aircraft. My one question is, has anyone done this with a model? This would be great because it could open the field of 3D flight to Jets, right?

Cool stuff, how effective are they? Enough to have manueverability greater than that of conventional control surfaces??

not links, but i got the vids. Thats amazing that it works as well as it does. I know in the full scale planes the materials for the actual vectoring devices have to be made of a super heat resistant material. This is the same video that is on flyingcirkus, but i didnt realize that it had thrust vectoring tech on it!
