I know some of you die hard jet fans don't consider a ducted fan worthy of flight, but I could never afford the real thing. I have found that RCM magazine sells plans to build your own, and I was really interested in the Lear 35A. It uses (2) .65 Dynamax fan units. Having no experience with DF's I was wondering if anyone knew of this kit, and what type of performance could be expected from a pair of .65 DFs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Its not really a plan but its mostly a plan to use when you purchase the Mark Frankel Learjet kit. This plan was featured in RCM magazine over a period of three months namely March, April and May 1989. The plane was slightly modified by Dennis Crooks and featured in the same magazine in June 1993.
The modifications made in the later months made the Learjet the owner of a shorter wing but a lighter plane and the flyability of the plane was considered to be better. However, according to the same write-up Dennis Crooks advises that the plane as is was a good flyer just as well.
I have never seen one fly but the thought of having a plane like this really wets the apetite!
Now were did i leave my twin turbines around!
